The Pelican. 
 
In medieval times the pelican was a symbol of self sacrifice and resurrection. Said to revive its young by piercing its breast and offering blood to the chicks.
 
Warm stoneware clay, sliptrailed by hand and glazed in a beautiful strong white glaze.
